May is normally a business-as-usual month, sandwiched between two Bank Holidays. This year we have a bonus and it will be slightly different with our end-of-May Bank Holiday being slightly delayed. Instead, we’ll have an extra Bank Holiday, giving some of us 2 days off on 2nd and 3rd June, to mark and celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Can anyone imagine being in the same job for 70 years?! 😲

I remember celebrating the Queen’s Silver Jubilee (yep, I am that old!) with a street party and all the celebrations for her Golden Jubilee being extraordinary, I can only imagine it will be as special for this year’s celebration. Are you celebrating? We would love to see your celebrations – please send any pictures by email to marketing@driverrequire.co.uk.

This month we donated £1200 to the Ukraine crisis through The British Red Cross – Driver Require very kindly provide all branch and Head Office employees a charitable donation each year to use and some of us chose to donate ours to the crisis so that families in need will be supported. This is the link if you wish to get personally involved https://donate.redcross.org.uk/appeal/ukraine-crisis-appeal.
📣  Another month and another issue of The Extra Mile. Each month we hope you enjoy your read. We like to bring you articles that interest you and maybe start conversations. If you have any ideas or requests for articles please email marketing@driverrequire.co.uk with the subject line Extra Mile.

Karlis is a HGV2 driver, working for Booker in Erith but helps out other clients when required. His longevity and also his willingness to always go the extra mile to help is admirable. Karlis will support with work at short notice and has covered weekend shifts previously.

"Karlis does around 8-10 drops per day to shops. It’s kerbside deliveries with cadges and is very physical, yet he goes in daily, with varying shift start times and never complains. He simply gets on with the job, the reports we get back from Booker are very positive and they love his attitude and flexibility." Stuart Moss, Branch Manager, Dartford

As a big "THANK YOU" for being a Driver Require Superhero and going Beyond the Extra Mile, we will be sending Karlis a £25 Amazon gift card.

Thank you Karlis, for all of your hard work and Going the Extra Mile to get the job done, from all of the team at Driver Require.
THE QUEEN'S PLATINUM JUBILEE 2022 - BANK HOLIDAY
As summer fast approaches, so does The Queen's Platinum Jubilee. To mark the occasion there will be a 4-day Bank Holiday weekend.

The May Bank Holiday Weekend has been moved to Thursday 2nd June and an additional Bank Holiday on Friday 3rd June will see a four-day weekend to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

This will be the first time any British monarch has reached the historic milestone. 🎉

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK 9-15 MAY
Mental Health Awareness Week is a annual event recognised across the UK which focuses on working on ways to achieve good mental health. This year's theme is loneliness, this is affecting more and more people, even more so since the pandemic. It is so important to raise awareness about the impact of loneliness on our mental wellbeing and exploring ways we can all work towards bettering our mental wellbeing.

Below are 20 things that we can all do and implement in our daily lives to help our own mental wellbeing. ⬇️
1. Learn new skills - taking up a new hobby can be fun and exciting

16. Listen to your favourite music 🎧

17. Stay hydrated, drink enough water 💦
