Welcome to the June edition of The Extra Mile!

With the high temperatures we've been experiencing across the country, it’s a good reminder to stay safe while out on the road. Long hours in the heat can take their toll, so please remember to stay hydrated, take regular breaks where possible, and look after yourself while working in the warmer weather.

There’s also plenty of excitement building this month with the start of the Men's Football World Cup. Whether you’re a football fan or not, there’s always a great atmosphere when a major tournament comes around, and we’re sure there’ll be lots of debates, predictions and score updates happening in transport yards and service stations up and down the country over the next few weeks!

Behind the scenes here at Driver Require, we’re currently transitioning over to a new internal system, which will impact payroll processing over the coming weeks.

There are no changes to your pay dates or payslips, and you will continue to be paid on Thursdays as normal. However, there may be a delay in payslips being uploaded to Sage HR. Instead of being available on the usual Wednesday, they will likely be uploaded on Thursday mornings - although we will still aim for Wednesdays wherever possible.

As this creates a shorter turnaround for checking payslips and making any necessary adjustments, we’d really appreciate it if you could review your payslip as soon as possible once it has been uploaded and let us know promptly if anything needs amending.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we make the move to the new system. We’re confident it will bring improvements for both our drivers and internal teams moving forward.

As always, there’s plenty more inside this month’s edition, including driver updates, industry news and opportunities across our branches.

Thanks for being part of the Driver Require team, let’s get into it.
Thank You for Your Feedback
A few months back we asked for your thoughts and opinions on the industry and where you think improvements could be made. We really appreciate everyone who took the time to share their views on pay, flexibility, working conditions and the future of the transport industry. The response was fantastic, and your feedback has helped us build a clearer picture of what drivers really want from employers and recruiters in 2026.

You can now download the full Driver Voice Survey Report 2026 here.

We'd love to hear your thoughts on the report.
Men's Health Week
From 15th to 21st June, we observe Men's Health Week, a time to highlight crucial health issues and promote wellbeing among men.

Did you know?
• Forklift drivers have a suicide rate 85% higher than the national average
• Van drivers: 25% higher
• LGV drivers: 20% higher

These aren’t just numbers, they’re people. Mates. Colleagues. Fathers. Sons. Brothers.

At Driver Require, we care deeply about your wellbeing. Taking care of your mental health is just as important as your physical health. If you ever need support, don't hesitate to reach out to friends, family, or mental health professionals. Remember, it's okay to ask for help.

💬 Talk to someone. A friend, family member, your GP, or a support line.
🚛 Check in on your fellow drivers too - you never know who might need it.

Together, we can change the culture in our industry and make wellbeing a real priority. We’re with you.
Driver of the Month🚛
Our Driver of the Month for June is Rodrigo-Camil Mihailescu from our Dartford Branch.

The team have nominated Rodrigo-Camil as he has been a driver in our Dartford branch for around a year now, never any problems and he is a trusted member of the team, an overall great guy.

As a big “THANK YOU” for being a HGV hero, we will be sending Rodrigo-Camil a £30 Amazon gift card. Thank you for your hard work and commitment, Rodrigo-Camil – we are proud to have you as part of the Driver Require Team!
