Welcome to the April edition of the Extra Mile - we can't believe we're a third of the way through 2026 already... where is the time going!
We hope you had a great Easter, whether you were able to take some time off or were out on the road keeping things moving. It’s always a busy period across the network, so a huge thank you to all our drivers who stepped up, kept us covered, and helped ensure everything ran smoothly. Your reliability and hard work never go unnoticed.
There’s been plenty happening in the world of sport too, with the Six Nations wrapping up and some strong performances across the tournament, alongside a packed calendar of football and other major events keeping fans entertained.
More widely, there continues to be a lot of discussion around global events and fuel prices, particularly with ongoing tensions in parts of the world. While these situations can create uncertainty across the logistics sector, we’re keeping a close eye on developments and will continue to support you as things evolve.
On a final note, a big thank you to everyone who took the time to complete our Industry Insights Survey. We had a fantastic response, and we’re currently working through the results - we’re looking forward to sharing the full report with you soon.
As always, there’s plenty more inside this month’s edition, from driver updates and useful information to the latest opportunities across our branches.
Thanks again for everything you do, let's get into it...

Are You Aware Of The RHA Benevolent Fund?
|
|
|
Life on the road isn’t always straightforward, and sometimes things don’t go to plan. That’s where the RHA Benevolent Fund comes in.
It’s a charity set up specifically to support people connected to the road transport industry, including drivers, when times get tough. Whether it’s due to illness, injury, financial pressure or unexpected life events, the fund is there to help you get back on your feet.
Support can come in many forms, from help with everyday essentials like bills and food, to funding for training, medical costs, or even support during difficult times such as bereavement.
The important thing to know is that it’s not just for RHA members - it’s open to anyone working in, or previously connected to, the industry, as well as their families. And everything is handled in confidence.
If you, or someone you know, ever find yourselves in a difficult situation, it’s reassuring to know there’s support out there from people who understand the industry and the challenges that can come with it. You can find out more here.

Our Driver of the Month for April is Stefan from our Tamworth and Nuneaton Branch.
The team have nominated Stefan as he has helped out on several occasions covering both van and class 2 runs at multiple clients. He never has any complaints and clients always ask for him and are very happy to have him back. There has never been any issues or grumbles and they really appreciate how co-operative Stefan is.
As a big “THANK YOU” for being a HGV hero, we will be sending Stefan a £30 Amazon gift card. Thank you for your hard work and commitment, Stefan – we are proud to have you as part of the Driver Require Team!
