There’s plenty going on as we head further into the year, both on and off the road. From a standout winter of sport, with the Winter Olympics delivering some brilliant moments, to the Six Nations now well underway (delivering some not so great moments), it’s been a great reminder of teamwork, resilience and performing under pressure.
Closer to home, Easter is fast approaching, and as always it’s shaping up to be a busy period across the network. We want to make sure you’ve got the right information at the right time, while continuing to support you through what can be a demanding part of the calendar.
You’ll also notice that this edition puts a real focus on your voice. We’re keen to hear your thoughts and feedback to help shape how we communicate with you and how we continue to advocate for our drivers across the industry. Your insight genuinely matters and plays a big part in how we improve what we do.
As ever, there’s plenty more inside from driver recognition and important updates, to job opportunities across our branches.
Thanks for being part of the Driver Require community. Let’s get into it.

Easter Payroll 🐰
Although it might feel a little early, this is the last edition of The Extra Mile before Easter, so we wanted to give you a heads-up on payroll and timesheets.
The good news is that payroll and timesheet submission dates remain unchanged over the Easter period. As long as your timesheets are submitted on time, payment will be processed as normal.
Please note that our branches will be closed over the Easter weekend. However, we’ll still be supporting operations through our on-call service, so there’s always someone available should anything urgent come up.
As ever, getting your timesheets in on time is the best way to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Driver of the Month🚛
Our Driver of the Month for March is Slawomir from our Ocado Team. The team have nominated Slawomir as he is always so reliable, flexible and nothing is too much bother for him. He will work out of his preferred start windows, he is willing to help wherever he can and always says “with pleasure” when agreeing to additional days. He is also extremely competent with tacho law and WTD.
As a big “THANK YOU” for being a HGV hero, we will be sending Slawomir a £30 Amazon gift card. Thank you for your hard work and commitment, Slawomir – we are proud to have you as part of the Driver Require Team!
International Women's Day
Sunday 8th March marks International Women’s Day, a day to recognise and celebrate the achievements, contributions and voices of women everywhere.
To mark the occasion, we spoke with some of the incredible women at Driver Require to ask what International Women’s Day means to them. From championing equality and seizing opportunities, to feeling supported, valued and recognised at work, they shared thoughtful and powerful reflections from their own journeys.
We’re incredibly proud to have such strong, knowledgeable and inspiring women helping to shape Driver Require, and we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part and shared their thoughts so openly.
We’re proud to continue championing women in the transport industry and supporting greater representation across every part of the sector. You may also remember our ‘Promoting Female Participation in the Driving Industry’ guide, which reflects our ongoing commitment to opening doors, creating opportunities and driving positive change.
This isn’t a one-off conversation - it’s something we’re passionate about and will continue to champion, now and into the future.
