Hello and welcome to the February edition of The Extra Mile!

We’re only a few weeks into 2026, but things are already moving at pace here at Driver Require and we’re excited to be growing once again with the launch of our new Nuneaton branch. It’s a big step forward and means we can offer even more opportunities and support to drivers in the Midlands and beyond.

But for us, it’s never just about placing people in jobs. It’s about looking after our drivers every day -  whether that’s through career support, wellbeing advice, or simply being here when you need us. That’s why we’re getting behind Heart Month this February, with some helpful tips to keep your health front of mind while you're out on the road.

You’ll also spot a photo from our recent all-team meeting, where we came together to focus on how we can keep improving the service we give to both our drivers and clients. It’s always great to regroup, refocus and make sure we’re delivering on what really matters.

As always, there’s plenty more inside including driver recognition, industry news, and the latest roles available across all our branches.

Thanks for being part of the Driver Require community. We’re proud to support you – not just with work, but with everything that comes with life behind the wheel.

Let’s get stuck in.
Introducing our new Nuneaton Branch🚛
We are delighted to introduce our newest branch - Driver Require Nuneaton! Whilst the branch is new, Teri and Chris have years of experience both in the industry and at Driver Require - so you're in good hands! If you're looking for work in the area, please give to the team a call!
Driver Require Team Meeting
Last week we brought everyone together for our 2026 kick-off meeting, with teams joining from across all our branches.

It was a great chance to pause the day-to-day, share business updates, reflect on the year just gone and talk about what’s ahead. Alongside the serious stuff, there was also plenty of time for catching up properly and spending time together as a wider team.

It’s not often we’re all in the same room, so having the time to talk, listen and swap ideas face to face really does make a difference.

A big thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the day such a positive start to the year. Here’s to building on it together in 2026!

Driver of the Month🚛
Our Driver of the Month for February is Andrew from our Nuneaton Branch. The team have nominated Andrew as he has never let them down and the clients really like him, always trying to find something to keep him working even when things are quiet. A credit to the Nuneaton team.

As a big “THANK YOU” for being a driving hero, we will be sending Andrew a £30 Amazon gift card. Thank you for your hard work and commitment, Andrew – we are proud to have you as part of the Driver Require Team!
Heart Health Month
At Driver Require, being a driver champion isn’t just about work, it’s about looking after you as a person too. February is Heart Health Month, so it’s a good time to think about how the job affects your health and what small changes can help keep your heart in good shape.

Driving for a living often means long hours sitting down, quick food choices and not much time to move. Over time, that can put extra strain on your heart – but a few simple habits can make a real difference.

Top heart health tips for drivers on the road:

❤️Try to build movement into your day. A short walk around the services, a stretch by the cab, or even taking the stairs instead of the lift all help get the blood moving and support your heart.

❤️Make smarter food choices where you can. We know service stations aren’t famous for healthy food, but choosing grilled over fried, adding fruit, and keeping snacks like nuts, yoghurt or cereal bars in the cab can help you avoid relying on crisps and chocolate.

❤️Be mindful of salt and sugar. Lots of ready meals and fast food options are high in salt, which can raise blood pressure. Cutting back and checking labels where possible can help protect your heart.

❤️Drink more water. Staying hydrated supports circulation and helps with concentration too. Keeping a bottle in the cab and sipping regularly can stop you feeling tired and sluggish.

❤️If you smoke, getting support to quit is one of the biggest steps you can take for your heart. Cutting down is a good start, and free NHS support is available if you want help.

❤️Most importantly, listen to your body. Chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness or unusual tiredness should never be ignored. Getting checked early could save your life.

At Driver Require, your health matters to us. Looking after your heart helps keep you safe on the road today and well for the years ahead.
