May's Milestones: Relocation, Laughter, and Celebrations!

As we welcome the month of May, it's time to dive into another edition of our newsletter, full of updates and important reminders.

We're proud to announce that our very own Ian ran the London Marathon in an impressive 3 hours and 10 seconds (pictured left). Join us in celebrating this remarkable achievement and cheering Ian on for his incredible accomplishment!

On the topic of Ian, and in the spirit of camaraderie and laughter, we invite you to watch a hilarious video capturing the antics of Nathan and Ian as they reflected on the time they dismantled Gwynne's desk. Laughter is the best medicine, and we hope this brings a smile to your face.

As the sun (periodically) shines brighter, we're reminded of the importance of sun awareness. With Sun Awareness Week, we've compiled some essential tips to help you protect yourself from the sun's rays while on the road.

And of course, we'll be highlighting our Driver of the Month and bringing you the latest news from the world of driving and logistics.

May is shaping up to be an exciting month and we thank you for being an integral part of our Driver Require team.

This week (6th - 12th May) is Sun Awareness Week and although the weather is a bit temperamental at the moment, it's an incredibly important subject.

The above photo demonstrates what 28 years of skin damage can do to a lorry drivers face. For 28 years, the driver has had his left side exposed to UVA rays transmitted through his window – whereas his right side was covered and relatively unharmed.

UVA rays are able to penetrate through glass windows and clouds and chronic exposure can lead to the destruction of the skin’s elastic fibres – which explains the deep wrinkles. Apart from ageing the skin, they also carry skin cancer risks, due to the breakdown of DNA and direct toxicity. So it’s crucial that you use sun cream every day, even when it’s cloudy outside.

Our Driver of the Month for May is Lee Dower from our Stevenage Branch. The team received a lovely email from a client stating:
