Welcome back and Happy New Year! I hope you managed to have some rest over the Christmas break.

Looking back on 2023 we saw some notable events including the Coronation of King Charles III, Eurovision back on UK soil after 25 years and many sporting events such as Rugby, Cricket and Football World Cups. We will see what 2024 brings us!

A new year has begun and we're looking ahead positively here at Driver Require. How long have you been with Driver Require?

Have you always been in recruitment? If not, what did you do before?

I have been involved in the Betting, Gaming, and hospitality industry most of my working career attaining the position of Deputy General Manager with Grosvenor Casino’s in 2018. I developed into the role of People Operations Manager in 2016 which is where I developed my HR and recruitment skills as I was responsible for recruitment, retention, and employee engagement of team members, achieving the highest score in the company of 55 clubs 3 times in succession being the top club for employee engagement.

I transferred my skillset into recruitment in 2021 during the pandemic when I was head hunted for a newly launched global business who specialised in permanent recruitment solutions for construction, engineering and technical executives working with names such as Komatsu, Volvo, JCB, Liu Gong Dressta, Sinoboom and XCMG to name a few.

Proudest moment of your life to date?

Making a step change in my life, accepting redundancy in 2019 ending a 26-year career in one industry and diversifying my skills ,behaviours and experience into a new sector.

Our Driver of the Month for December is Lavinia De Ayr from our Darford Branch. Lavinia has been with us in branch since July and has recently moved to Tier 1 Ocado. Lavinia is great with her communication and makes the branch aware of any defects or incidents occurring when she is out on a run.
