November has arrived (just!) and the nights are drawing in earlier. The kids bellies are full of their Trick & Treat sweeties🎃and the expectancy of Guy Fawkes and fireworks is just round the corner.🎆

We are busy getting drivers registered ready for the peak festive season which kicks off in style with Black Friday and Cyber Monday at the end of the month.

We have had a turbulent October within the political arena and we will of course keep you updated if there are any industry specifics as the new leader (currently Rishi Sunak) settles in and sets out his plans for Britain.

This is an ideal time to refer your HGV driver friends to us – there is no limit to how many and you get £200 for each one*.

As part of our ongoing commitment to our drivers and your personal development, we have signed up our active HGV drivers for a free Toolbox Talk on bridge strikes by Road Skills Online.

You can log in and watch it from anywhere with internet access either on your mobile phone or any device connected to the Internet.

Keep an eye on your emails this month (including spam), you'll be receiving an email asking you to set up your secure password. Please follow the instructions and then proceed to watch the Toolbox Talk:

Listen to the introduction
Play the three learning point videos and
Take the quiz, enabling you to gain the certificate.

You need to answer all five questions correctly to gain your certificate to complete the Toolbox Talk.

Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday present a good opportunity to reflect, show respect, and remember both those who risked their lives and those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our future.

Here at Driver Require we are very proud to have signed the Armed Forces Covenant. This covenant sets out the relationship between the nation, the government and our Armed Forces. It recognises that the whole nation has a moral obligation to members of the Armed Forces and their families, and it establishes how they should expect to be treated. The covenant exists to redress the disadvantages that the armed forces community may face in comparison to other citizens and to recognise sacrifices made. This is something we at Driver Require passionately believe in and support.

To all those who have served - thank you for your service.

Another important date to recognise in the month of November is Movember - a chance to raise money and awareness around prostate cancer, testicular cancer, men's mental health and suicide prevention. The typical way many fundraise for Movember is by growing a moustache, allowing your face to raise funds and awareness for men's health. More information can be found here.

Radoslaw has a very strong work ethic and is very flexible - he adapts to meet client's requirements and takes everything in his stride. Radoslaw trusts us with the work we supply him and often covers shifts others don't want due to nature of work / travel / start times. He’s been driving flat beds, box, double deck, curtain siders and anything else you can attach to a class 1 unit. He has never complained about the work and has been a true asset allowing us to cover those difficult shifts. In addition he's had no complaints from clients or infringements / accidents. Radoslaw is a real testament to our team.

Jenny has been back out on the road and this time travelled north to Warwickshire. She visited Rugby Truck Stop.

On first impressions she was very impressed with the welcoming, clean entrance. All available areas were well signposted. The shop was superbly stocked and appeared to cover all requirements you may need whilst out on the road.

The restaurant was equally impressive – friendly staff, really clean and lots of choice! There is a takeaway service or there are plenty of tables available, they even bring the food to your table!

With the added services of a launderette and barbers/hairdressers on site along with their 5⭐️ food hygiene rating this is a definite “if you are out and about, check it out!”😊
